About the Role

Google is looking for passionate engineering students to join as Software Development Engineer Interns. You will work alongside some of the best engineers in the world on real products used by billions of people.

This internship is a gateway to a full-time offer at Google. Interns are treated as full engineers and given meaningful, impactful projects.

What You Will Work On

  • Design and implement features for Google-scale products
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on architecture decisions
  • Write clean, tested, production-quality code
  • Present your work at the end of the internship

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing B.Tech / M.Tech in CS or related field
  • Strong fundamentals in Data Structures and Algorithms
  • Proficiency in at least one language: Java, C++, or Python
  • Understanding of basic system design concepts
  • Excellent problem-solving skills

Nice to Have

  • Competitive programming experience (Codeforces, LeetCode, etc.)
  • Prior open source contributions
  • Knowledge of distributed systems

Selection Process

  1. Online Coding Round (2 DSA problems — 90 minutes)
  2. Technical Phone Screen (1 DSA + discussion)
  3. Virtual Onsite (3 rounds: 2 coding + 1 Googleyness)
  4. Host Matching

Compensation

  • Stipend: ₹1.2 Lakh per month
  • Housing: Fully covered by Google
  • Return Offer: Top performers receive full-time offers

How to Prepare
